Although they're missing private school kids, juvenile detention kids, kids in cults, and now kids in flipped classes, public schools prepare MOST of our kids for the real world (waiting in line at the DMV). Honestly though, I agree that our public high schools serve an often unspoken purpose of teaching kids how to navigate social landscapes.John0112358https://www.blogger.com/profile/13845309441084155421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6451297790143722541.post-13271845909583800772012-03-13T12:26:07.134-07:002012-03-13T12:26:07.134-07:00Hi Matt,

On the pattern of disruption I agree with the 'S' shaped concept but I also believe the pattern of disruption causes a reset in some instances. With the personal computer example, after reducing the complexity to the point where all people could use them, the complexity then increased again but with a majority of people on board from the ground level allowing them to understand from the beginning.VanCleefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03098177708398819041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6451297790143722541.post-61359848918204875112012-03-13T11:22:10.327-07:002012-03-13T11:22:10.327-07:00"The primary issues with the standard monolit..."The primary issues with the standard monolithic approach are that it constitutes the old way of instruction and will not be able to adequately adopt the computer." Very true - if we do not change with technology, it won't be an effective tool in our classes. The idea that teachers can help on the side of the students as they do the work is an interesting and I believe, powerful concept. Is the idea that teachers will be able to teach to different learning styles this way?Ms. Howehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12936084594167229237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6451297790143722541.post-12340091421797563142012-02-06T22:07:40.362-08:002012-02-06T22:07:40.362-08:00I really like your background and your layout for ...I really like your background and your layout for the RR.
